Since 1997 — it feels like yesterday

We started in 1997, offering hosting to the world and building websites in Costa Rica when most businesses here didn't yet have an email address. It feels like just yesterday when, in 1998, we were registering forhosting.com — a domain we still operate today, now as the dedicated hosting product of this same ecosystem.

Everything since — the sites, the e-commerce, the apps, the SEO, and now iNTELIGENCIA VIVA — grew from that same workshop: patient work, real clients, and the stubborn idea that a small team in Heredia can build things the whole world can use.

A thank-you to the United States

This page owes a debt of gratitude, and we pay it in plain sight: to the United States, which has looked after Costa Rica throughout its history — as its greatest trading partner, its closest friend in hard times, and the origin of most of the visitors, investors and companies that chose this small country.

We are not a U.S. state, and we don't hold Puerto Rico's privileged status. And yet Costa Rica became the Silicon Valley of Latin America — in good part because Americans fell in love with our beaches, our forests and our people, and kept coming back: as tourists, as neighbors, as employers, as partners.

The Intel plants, the tech campuses, the service hubs, the startup ecosystem — none of it grows in a vacuum. It grows where there is peace (we abolished our army in 1948), education, and a friend who trades with you and trusts you. Gracias.

Why "iNTELIGENCIA VIVA" — and not just "intelligence"

"Artificial intelligence" describes a technology. We named the product after what's missing from most of it: life. An FAQ bot is intelligence embalmed — it knows answers but nothing is alive in the exchange. A conversation is alive when someone actually listens, admits what they don't know, and hands you to a person the moment that's better for you.

That's the whole thesis in two words: inteligencia — machines reading, retrieving, drafting at machine speed; viva — a human team it defers to, honestly, in the same inbox. The lowercase "i" is deliberate: the intelligence is the junior partner. VIVA is capitalized and gold because the living part — your team, your customers — is the one that matters.

And yes, it's Spanish on purpose. The product speaks eight languages, but it refuses to pretend it was born in a Bay Area accelerator. It was born where we take conversations personally.

The team behind it

We are ZARZA CORP, S.A. — a Costa Rican software house that has spent years building websites, e-commerce, apps and SEO for real businesses. iNTELIGENCIA VIVA wasn't invented in a brainstorm: it condensed out of hundreds of client conversations that all hit the same wall — visitors write, businesses drown, chatbots embarrass everyone.

So we built the tool we kept wishing existed, and we run our own operation on it. When something is broken, we feel it before you do.
